That's what most people are saying today. For me, it's rather anti-climatic since I get the honor of working on Saturday in addition to the usual five day work week. It gets rather tiring after a while. At least I've had a couple of snippets of good news on the work front this week...
Snippet #1
After six long years of waiting, I have finally obtained a sub to call my very own! Linda, our current OIC, informed me yesterday that I will begin trainning him on Monday. I went into a state of shock when I heard the news. At this point in time, I didn't think that anyone would ever take the initiative to hire one for me. Yippee! As soon as he is amply trained, I am going to take a Saturday off, just to see what it feels like!
Snippet #2
Starting this coming week we will be delivering ADVO detached label mailings on Tuesday in addition to the normal Friday mailing. This is due to the fact that the supermarkets in our area have decided to all start their sales on different days. I'm not happy about the extra work that this brings me, but I am hoping that the addition of this new mailing will provide me with enough volume to change my route classification to "J" after the next mail count. If it does, I will finally be able to get every other Saturday off while remaining on my beloved Rural Route 4! I am praying to the mail gods that this is the case...
