Happy Labor Day to all of Mambo-ers in the US of A. So today we are bringing you the Patriotic Mambo. Everyone make one last mambo around the barbeque grill and then go and put away the white pants! 'Cos it's Labor Day!
To get us warmed up, a little bit of "I say..... You think...." (music style)
Freedom: Philadelphia Freedom Anthem: Rock You Like A Hurricane, the ultimate rock ~n~ roll anthem Stars: Stars On 45, a freaky dance mix of a bunch of songs from the 60's and 70's. Sea:"From sea to shining sea..." Country: What John Lodge should call those "western cowboy songs." Save: Save The Last Dance For Me War: Eve Of Destruction Glory: Moment Of Glory
Have you warmed up now? Ok then, let's get our Mambo going on.
1. Do you like you're country's National Anthem? If not, what song do you think it should be? Let's see. It's a poem about war set to the melody of an old Irish drinking song. What's not to like? Do you detect a note of sarcasm here? I think our country would be better served by a national anthem extolling its beauty and diversity. America The Beautiful would be a good choice.
2. Are there any patriotic pop songs that you enjoy? What are they? Every time I hear the song Proud To Be An American , it sends a chill up my spine.
3. Holiday weekends are a time for picnics...what kind of music do you like at your picnics? The only way that Lady Starlight is going to any picnics is if The Scorpions are playing there live!
4. A lot of music has a message about how the world should be, what song best expresses your world views? I give you a passage from The Scorpions' Under The Same Sun...
Do you ever ask yourself Is there a heaven in the sky Why can't we get it right
'Cause we all live under the same sun We all walk under the same moon Then why, why can't we live as one...
Ok, that's your Labor Day Mambo! Get out there and shake it! (In between hamburgers and hot dogs).
So from all of us Mamboer's here at BDI to you....Mambo until the last hot dog is eaten!
