As many of you know, I am also a contributing member of a team blog called The Certifiable Wenches. My main contribution to this blog is an in blog meme called Silly Sunday. This meme of my creation is about the men that I love and admire being caught in the act of acting silly. Silliness is a quality that I find quite endearing. Being featured on one of these posts is an honor, not an insult! The world could use a lot more silliness. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine for just about anything that ails you!
It is with great sadness that I have noticed that a certain group of Scorpions fans took offense to something that I posted back in June.
It is reproduced, in part, below...
First up this week is my favorite band, The Scorpions, with this photo.
Rudolf's pants are so tight that he may just turn blue and pass out from sucking it in, Francis is ready to bash someone over the head with his bass, Klaus is really getting into the whole air-guitar thing, and Matthias and Herman may just burst into fits of hysterical laughter at any second.
Next we have Matthias Jabs and Rudolf Schenker.
Please, Matthias, don't poke my eyes out! And, Rudolf, what do you plan on doing with that cigar?
I see no reason to take offense to any of this! The guys were acting silly. They made me smile. I'm quite certain that it was their intention to do just that! I most certainly was NOT insulting Rudolf or Mati! I love them both dearly, and their ability to make me laugh is one of the reasons I feel this way. What I said, I said with love. If you cannot see that, then you must be truly blind.
Perhaps you too should learn to be silly, and learn to express your opinions with love. Calling The Moody Blues a bunch of mummies was certainly out of line. They are, after all, but a few years older than Rudolf and Klaus! No, they are not musicians of the same type as The Scorpions, but their music is also quite beautiful, as are they!
Certainly there are many types of music and beauty in the world to be appreciated. Why not show yourselves to be the good people that I know you are by learning to see the beauty in everything, and above all by saying what you think with love!
