No, Lady Starlight has not taken up doing bad impressions of Joan Rivers. We really need to talk, especially if you arrived here via Blog Explosion!
Don't get me wrong, this is a great way to get more traffic to your blog, but unfortunately, you have no control over the type of people who visit your blog. You also have no control over the ones to which you are sent. Fair enough. There are all kinds of people in the world. Eventually you are bound to come across something that you enjoy. This is not the issue. The issue is a certain little feature that allows you to Rate This Blog. Using this feature, surfers are able to rate your blog on a scale of one to ten, with ten being fantastic and one being horrific. So, what is the problem with this? Allow me to explain:
You are busy surfing the blogs of your fellow Blog Explosion members when you happen across a blog which expresses opinions diametrically opposed to your own, for me this means narrow minded fundamentalist Christians and Republicans, pretty much the same thing. Steam begins to emerge from your ears. Your eyes begin to glow red. Your mouse finger starts to itch. You click on the link that says "Rate This Blog." Click! You give that crazy S. O. B. a one. Am I not correct?!
At some point in time, if you are a fairly intelligent person, reason will return. You will regret giving that poor schmuck a one. It is just his opinion, after all. He is entitled to it as much as you are to yours. You realise that you have just done a very immature and hurtful thing. In short, you feel like crap! How do I know this? I'll leave that for you to guess.
What I would like to ask of the folks at Blog Explosion is that they give us the ability to block people from rating our blogs. I rant, I rave, I expess my opinions, I attempt to amuse. You either like me or you don't. That's your business. If I really disgust you with my opinions, then by all means add me to your do not view list. I do not wish to be rated by you. In turn I will not rate you.
Enough said. I apologize to anyone who received a one from me. It was a nasty and childish thing for me to do. You have a right to your opinion as much as I have one to mine. I am sorry. I will rectify this situation when the opportunity presents itself. Please forgive me.
