1. Politics have gotten *so* far out of hand, that it's no longer about voting for the best person for the job, but the lesser of two evils. Does this matter to you? Why/Why not? Of course it matters to me. Elected officials make decisions that effect all of our lives. Unfortunately, I don't believe this to be a new problem. We are just more aware of it today. What is it that they say? "With power comes corruption."
2. The media in this country is also a joke. How do you get your news (tv, radio, internet), and *where* do you get it (CNN, Fox, other websites)? Let's face it, the news media (especially television) is not really interested in informing us about important events. They're out there to get ratings which equal more money from sponsors. Why else would they always have those "Watch and Win" sweepstakes during the Neilson sweeps weeks? I avoid television news at all costs. If I want news, I tend to turn to local newspapers or their websites.
3. Do you pay attention to the world around you, or do you say 'forget it' and just concentrate on your own life? Why/Why not? Really, I have enough problems of my own. I should try to solve them before taking on the problems of the world, but I just can't help myself. Sometimes a cause catches my attention and I feel the need to get up on my soap box every chance that I get!
Bonus Question for Comments~ Are you happy with the way y2k+4 is shaping up? Do you think it'll get better or worse? Are you referring to the elections? Whoopie! What a great selection we have, George W. Bush AKA The Idiot vs. John Kerry (not much better). This two party system has got to go. I want more and better choices, dammit! No matter how you slice it, this country is going to be run by an idiot for another four years. The only question is which one? I personally am hoping for a fresh new idiot for the next four years...
