1. Do you speak any other languages than the one you speak everyday? I can understand Spanish fairly well, but I am not very good at speaking it. What can I say? I am an American. I think that they put something in the water here that prevents us from learning to speak a second language!
2. Would you like to speak another language? Yes, since I am beginning to believe that the only way I'll ever get to see The Scorpions in concert is to see them in their homeland, I would really like to learn to speak German. I have an exceptional talent for getting lost. Knowing the native language will make asking for directions a lot easier when that eventually occurs.
3. Have you ever tried to learn how to speak another language? I took four years of Spanish classes in high school, and another year in college.
4. If so how did that turn out? I can read Spanish fairly well and understand when others speak it. I cannot, however, speak it with any degree of fluency.
5. Have you ever tried to speak another language without knowing what you were saying? Speak? No. I can think of many more interesting ways to make a fool of myself... I have been known to play around with the written word, but not without being fairly certain that I know what it means.
Does anyone out there want to volunteer to teach me to speak German?
