Damn, my age is really going to show on this one! We all know that the best protest songs came from the Vietnam War era. Oh, wait! That wasn't a war, that was a police action. *cough, cough*
1. Ohio - Neil Young Written in protest to the National Guard's killing of four innocent students on the campus of Kent State University during an anti-war demonstration in the summer of 1969.
2. Eve Of Destruction - Barry McGuire An anti- war protest song that retains its relevence, even today.
3. Save Me - Tanya Tucker In protest of the massive clubbing of baby seals for their fur. Ms. Tucker donated the procedes from the sale of this record to help those poor critters.
4. This Song - George Harrison George's snarky protest to the Bright Music lawsuit which was filed against him for plagerism.
"This tune has nothing Bright about it..."
5. Crossfire - The Scorpions The lyrics say it all...
"Why cannot the people we made leaders of the world Understand that we don't wanna fight Understand that we are much to young to die Understand that no one will survive Understand that we love our life."
