If you pop on over to Wenches, you'll see that I am imploring everyone to stop and count her blessings and offer up a prayer for the victims of hurricane Katrina, rather than focus on th trivial annoyances of everyday life. Far be it from little ol' me to ask anyone to do something that I would not do myself, so...
1. I am blessed with wonderful friends and family who are always there for me when I need them.
2. I am blessed with a job that pays enough money for me to meet my monthly bills, even if I usually am a little bit late in doing it most of the time.
3. I am blessed to finally have a car that is in good running order.
4. I am blessed to have one of two twelfth row center tickets for the Cinncinati Moody Blues show in October.
5. I am blessed to have the money to pay for the aforementioned ticket!
6. I am blessed to have actually won a little bit of money on the slots at Wheeling Island tonight (even though I did end up donating the majority of my winnings to The American Red Cross for Katrina's victims).
7. I am blessed to have two teenaged sons who, although they may be a bit mouthy at times, are for the most part good boys.
8. I am blessed most of all by being one who is able to offer help (no matter how small), rather than being the one who needs it.
My prayer is as follows:
"Lord, please hold the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in your loving hands. Protect them in their time of need and bring an end to their suffering. Bless them and their families. I ask this in the name of Jesus."
