If you guessed that I wasn't at work, you win the prize! How could this be? Do I not work six days a week? This is still true, unfortunately, but due to the fact that I finally have a sub to call my own, I was able to take today off from work. It only took them six and a half years to find one for me, so today I decided to see how the other half lives. You know, those lucky people who actually get Saturdays off on a regular basis.
In celebration of this momentous occasion, my sister and I decided to head to the south side of Pittsburgh for an eating tour. We made many stops, but I shall concentrate on only one, the coolest bar in Pittsburgh, The Tiki Lounge!
The decor of this place is something you would have expected to see in the episode of The Brady Bunch where they went to Hawaii. A huge Tiki Man statue greets you as you walk in the door. Get yourself a drink and have a seat at a table lit by a Tiki Man lamp.
When nature calls, head down the stairs to the restrooms.
Look! There's a fountain behind the staircase!
This is the base of the fountain, just outside the restroom doors. Tee hee! No diving! I guess that maybe they had some problems with people who had to much to drink!
The island decor extended to the restrooms where the sinks were shaped like seashells.
If you're in Pittsburgh and feeling thirsty, this is the one place that you should definitely not pass up. Even if you're not, stop there anyway. It is a truly fun place to be!
