Although our (Andrea's and mine) busy schedules did not allow us to attend services at our own church on this day commemorating the Lord's last supper, we were able to spend some quality time in the local Byzantine Catholic church, located a few blocks from our parents' home. The icons covering the walls and ceiling are some of the most beautiful artwork that I've ever seen!
Visiting this particular church on this day has become sort of a ritual for us, but no matter how many times I visit, I am always overwhelmed by its beauty. On a side note, the parish has a new priest (seen in the left corner of the top photograph). He's quite the talkative one, and was more than willing to share with us all the information that he could provide about the church building. It's amazing how little you can know, or how much you can forget, about something that has been just down the road from you for most of your life!
