I have asked myself this question many times. I have always been quite certain that what I truly believe spiritually was not contained in any mainstream Christian religion, so I was quite intrigued when I discovered a link to The Belief-O-Matic Quiz on Khali's Blog.. Following are my results. I have bolded the name of the faith of which I am actually a practicing member.
The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches my beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that my views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.
Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with my professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with my thinking.
1. Neo-Pagan (100%) 2. Liberal Quakers (96%) 3. Reform Judaism (94%) 4. Unitarian Universalism (94%) 5. Mahayana Buddhism (93%) 6. Bahá'í Faith (90%) 7. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (88%) 8. New Age (83%) 9. Sikhism (76%) 10. Orthodox Judaism (73%) 11. Jainism (71%) 12. Theravada Buddhism (71%) 13. New Thought (67%) 14. Hinduism (66%) 15. Islam (66%) 16. Secular Humanism (65%) 17. Orthodox Quaker (63%) 18. Scientology (60%) 19. Taoism (58%) 20. Nontheist (43%) 21. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (41%) 22. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (39%) 23. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (38%) 24. Seventh Day Adventist (34%) 25. Eastern Orthodox (32%) 26. Roman Catholic (32%) 27. Jehovah's Witness (23%)
Wow! According to this I am really in the wrong church. I always knew that my personal beliefs were quite different from the doctrines of the Catholic church, but I never realized how much until I took this quiz! It seems that the only faith less suitable for me is the Jehovah's Witnesses. Fascinating.
