Remember back in March when I was upset that my route still had not reached a point where I could get a relief day at least every other week? My boss had tabulated the results of our count and showed me a figure of 43.23 hours for a six day work week, just a few minutes a day short of the 44.0 hours a week needed to get a day off every other week at the low paying option. Alas, I was told that I had NO option. I left his office in tears over the prospect of yet another year of working six days a week, and he knew it! More money might be nice, but my sanity is wearing very thin...
Yesterday I got my first paycheck based on my new route evaluation. It seemed exceptionally large to me. I checked the route evaluation, and guess what?! It was 44.23 hours per week! This means that at the low paying option (which I ALWAYS select on my count forms) I would be entitled to a day off every other week. I understand that there was a mathematical error on my boss's part (all of the routes were one hour longer weekly than what the carriers had been told), but certainly management had received the correct figures at least two weeks ago. Why was I not informed about the change in status of my route?! Besides that, why was I being paid at the high option scale when I had selected the low? I smell a rat, and his name is
I have to wonder, did he enjoy seeing me cry? Does he like having the queen of the bitches working for him? He must, since he pulled this one over on me. But wait... He's off doing detail work at another office. He doesn't have to deal with me. He's damned lucky, because if he had been in the office when I made this discovery, I would have bitten his head off!
Dammit, I hate liars! And they wonder why postal workers flip out and shoot their bosses...
