Top Five On Friday
It's all about what ya love this week.
Top 5 songs you can't get out of your head
(This could be catchy songs or just your top 5 songs of the moment)
I'm going with the five songs that I find on my mental loop the most often...
Clicky-Clicky on the song titles and they can become stuck in your head too!
1. Du Bist So Schmutzig - The Scorpions
Yeah, half of the lyrics are in German and I don't understand most of them (although the ones that I DO understand give me a general clue as to what the song is all about), but this doesn't prevent the song from taking its place on my mental loop, nor does it stop me from singing those (probably mispronounced) German lyrics.
2. This Time - The Scorpions
Matthias Jabs wrote this one all by his lonesome and it shows. Unfortunately, this is NOT a good thing. The music is incredible, but the lyrics...
Good God! The ones that aren't "borrowed" from other songs are downright horrible and make absolutely no sense.
"I feel all shook up since you walked my way
You make me feel so much stronger."
Huh?! That's kinda contradictory, Mati, my dear. Are you sure that you know how to speak English?
In spite of, or perhaps because of the horrible lyrics, this one loves to get stuck in my head. Someone, PLEASE, make it go away!
And the next time you want to write a song, Mati, my love, leave the lyric writing to the experts, like KLAUS!
AND STOP MAKING THOSE SILLY FACES AT ME!
3. Don't Need A Reindeer - The Moody Blues
This is absolutely the greatest pop Christmas song ever written! I love it. I love it all year long. I think that it should be a permanent part of the Moody's set list, even in JULY! Especially in July, since that's that's when we're going to see them...
Sing it for me, Justin!
4. Love Is A Rose - Neil Young
And you guys all know what happens when this song takes its place on my mental loop, you get memes on songs with flowers in the titles! I'm sorry about that, really...
The funny thing about this song is that I keep wondering, if Weird Al did a parody of it, would this be a part of the lyrics...?
"Love is a nose, but you better not pick it..."
5. Layla - Eric Clapton
It's not so much the actual song that gets stuck in my head, it's the guitar riffs. They're incredible. And, Eric, darling, this song should never be played acoustically. That ruins the best part of it! Those riffs validate Clapton's claim to guitar godhood...
Even though Matthias Jabs could play him under the table any time, any place, anywhere...
