And to make things even more interesting, I learned it from a pop-up ad! Allow me to explain:
You've probably noticed that I am quite fond of smilies. My favorite site for snagging them is World-Of-Smilies.de. They've got scads of smilies for me to use and even a smiley generator if I can't find what I need. Their one drawback is that the site causes many pop-up ads. Usually my pop-up blockers prevent them from appearing, but not yesterday. The ever-inventive creators of these things have devised a way to make them not appear as a separate window to your computer. The only way to close these puppies is to click on the "close window" link provided by the advertiser. But, wait... Did you notice that I said that the site this was on was World-Of-Smiles.de?! Yep, the bloody ad and the close link are in German! Hmmmm... There is a word up there in the corner, schliessen, maybe that's it. CLICK! The window closes. Hence I learned a new word. Schliessen=close.
But perhaps I shouldn't have closed that window. The ad was for a German dating service. Chris is looking mighty fine. He's thirty-nine and looking for a woman. If he doesn't mind someone a few years older, I'd be more than happy to be his frau...
