Today's Dirt gives me a chance to display my truly cynical nature, because it is all about
Romance
1.Which is better to receive: flowers or candy? As the song says... "I want candy!" Preferably a big box of Godiva chocolates...
2. What's your favorite flower? Definitely roses, especially the blood red or snow white ones. I would prefer to see them growing in a garden rather than cut and thrown in a vase to die.
3. When did you last receive flowers from someone? I was given some marigolds to plant in my garden about three weeks ago. Does that count? If not, I was a given a potted flower at our church's graduation brunch on the last Sunday of May. All of the parents of graduates got them.
4. Who sent them? No one sends me flowers. The marigolds were given to me by Joe, one of my postal customers. The potted flower, a petunia, was given to me by my oldest son, Raymond. It had been purchased by the church, though.
5. What's your opinion on romantic holidays... Valentines Day, Sweetest's Day, etc? These holidays are nothing but a commercial gimmick, thought up by greeting card companies, restaurant owners, and florists as a way for them to make more money! Valentine's Day, Bah, Humbug!
