Thursday Thirteen
I am dreadfully afraid of heights, but I've never let that stop me from going places or doing things. So, this week's Thursday Thirteen is:
Thirteen of highest places that I've ever been
(in no particular order)
1. In a 747 flying over the Atlantic
2. On the observation deck of The World Trade Centers (sniff)
3. The top of the Geralda in Sevilla, Spain
4. The Top of the Triangle, the restaurant that once occupied the top floor of the U.S. Steel Building in Pittsburgh.
5. On the roof of The Fulton Building, also in Pittsburgh. Please don't ask me what I was doing up there!
6. The next to the last row in "E" section of the Civic (Mellon) Arena. I could reach up and touch the dome of "The Igloo."
7. The top of the Absecon Lighthouse
8. The choir loft of the old Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church
9. The top of the chime tower at Longwood Gardens.
10. Lady Liberty's crown
11. The lookout point, high atop Mt. Washington (Grandview Ave., Pittsburgh PA)
12. The Kissing Tower in Hershey Park, but I had no one to kiss...
13. "The cheap seats" in Pittsbugh's old Three Rivers Stadium, just below the scoreboard.
Of course, most of the time that I spent in many of these places I was trembling with fear!
