Today, it was off to Pittsburgh for Michael, Andrea, and me. The occasion was the Spring Flower Show and Grand Opening of the new welcome center of Phipp's Conservatory. As members, we could hardly pass this opportunity to be among the first to visit, our admission was free. Unfortunately, parking wasn't. The parking situation was total insanity. All of the regular parking for the flower show was filled, forcing us to park in a paid lot near the Carnegie Museum. At least I got my exercise...
Once inside the new welcome center, we found ourselves greeted by a juggler who was performing for the special occasion.
Then it was up the staircase to enter the conservatory, but not without pausing to take a picture or two of the overcast day outside from the dome of the new welcome center.
Upon entering the conservatory, we saw the usual beautiful array of flowers. Since this was the spring show, many of them were tulips.
But the most exciting sight of the day was not seen in the conservatory, it was seen in the Pittsburgh skyline outside the Hard Rock Cafe, where we had chosen to dine...
The sun was shining over the city of Pittsburgh! I'm expecting hell to freeze over at any time now...
