I do not have to cry in my beer. Let the celebration begin!
The Steelers managed to defeat the Jets last night in a real nail biter. At the end of four quarters of regultion play, the score was tied at 17. I cringed as the Jets won the coin toss and elected to receive in sudden death overtime. Thankfully the Steeler defense prevented them from scoring on that possession, allowing the offense to take over and drive the ball down the field into field goal range.
When all was said and done, responsibility for the outcome of the game was on the shoulders of one man, Steelers kicker, Jeff Reed.
Reed did not let his team down, easily putting the ball between the posts from 33 yards out.
The Steelers will go on to play the New England Patriots, who easily defeated the Indianapolis Colts 20-17 today, in next Sunday's AFC championship game.
