Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
Christmas is coming. Santa's elves are busy making these...
Our word for this week is:
Toy
My I-dog is one of my favorite toys. I love to watch him dance to the music.
Name one thing you always wanted as a child, but never received.
A horse! It could be because I've always lived within the city limits where you are not allowed to keep one...
What childhood activity would you like to try again? Taking temper tantrums. Oops! I still do that on a regular basis. Perhaps riding a bicycle. I haven't done that in ages. They say that you never forget...
What were you scared of when you were a kid? The usual things like the dark and thunderstorms...
Actually, I'm still a little bit frightened of both of these things.
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Here is the randomness brought to me this afternoon, courtesy of all music, shuffle...
1. Bridge Over Troubled Water - Paul Simon 2. Because - The Beatles 3. Deja Vu - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 4. Bedroom Toys - Duran Duran 5. Baby Lie - Gary Puckett 6. Seeing Things - The Black Crowes 7. Midnight/Tornado - Skid Row 8. Bedtime Stories - Justin Hayward 9. Stuck Inside A Cloud - George Harrison 10. Golden - Bernie Barlow
Where's the metal? It seems that Media Player was just not in the mood. Just that one song by Skid Row.
And now for the picture...
My brand new 5G RCA MP3 player. I got the last one they had at the local Wal Mart yesterday. Sweet....

I Am Not A Nerd!
Woo hoo! Isn't this good to know?!
You Are 20% Nerdy
You are definitely not nerdy - in fact, you probably don't know any nerds. You probably care a little too much about your image. No one will know if you secretly watch Star Trek reruns!
It's Thanksgiving Day here in the U.S. A post on the things that I'm thankful for would be just too damned obvious, so....
Here's the Thanksgiving dinner spread.
Thirteen things that I ate today!
1. Turkey 2. Stuffing 3. Mashed potatoes 4. Cranberry sauce 5. Martha Stewart sweet potato casserole 6. Green bean casserole 8. Dinner rolls 9. Gravy 10. Pumpkin pie 11. Cherry-filled sugar cookies 12. Whipped cream 13. Olives
Now excuse me while I go work some of this off on the Cloud Walker...

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in the good ol' U. S. of A., so Mama Pherret (Who could she be?!) will be doing plenty of this! Not to worry if you live elsewhere, you'll be doing it as well, except probably not as much!
Our word for this week is:
Eat
Our recently departed Buddha having his Thanksgiving dinner.
Name one ritual you'd like to work into your day. I'd really like to have a ritual of spending at least an hour with my guitars every day. Alas, at this time of year, I'm lucky if I can work in just a few minutes with them!
What is something that you'd like to try that would surprise someone that knows you? I'm such an off-the-wall person, I doubt that there is anything that I'd like to try that would surprise anyone who really knows me. The strangest thing that I'd like to try... well... I'd love to get a pilot's license! I don't see much chance of that ever happening though.
What is something that you've tried, that looking back, you're surprised that you did. Hmmm... I honestly can't think of anything. My motto: I'll try anything, ONCE! That could be the reason...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
I could list the songs I heard playing today at Wheeling Island. I could list the tracks from the Christmas Cheer mixed CD that I made today. But none of that would be as much fun as the randomness spat out at me by my media player tonight!
Here we go...
1. Take It On The Run - REO Speedwagon 2. Possession - Bad English 3. Hot Blooded -Foreigner 4. Bangla Desh - George Harrison 5. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard 6. Question -The Moody Blues 7. Over Now - Michael Schenker Group 8. Wah - Wah - George Harrison 9. Here In My Heart - The Scorpions & The Berliner Philharmoniker 10. Keep On Loving You - REO Speedwagon
Not as weird as some weeks, but still pretty weird!
And now for the picture...
Sorry, Andrea, it's not the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, but it IS a barge travelling down (or is it up?) the Ohio River.

Guess Where I'm Going Tomorrow!
I'll give you a tiny hint...
Woo Hoo! Slot machines, pretty lights, and ISLAND BUFFET!!!!
It has been way too long since I was last there, in may I think. I need a gambling and pigging out fix!
5.Used To Love Her - Guns 'N Roses "I used to love her, but I had to kill her..." Change the "her" to a "him" and this song pretty much sums up my evil fantasies about "the estranged one."

ARGH!
Thanksgiving has yet to come, but still I am greeted by this every day on my route now!
Santa Claus!
Every year, people start to decorate for Christmas a little bit earlier. I swear that one day Santa will be smiling at me from their yards before the kids go back to school!

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
Even though Dr. Seuss said that it was a great day for this, I still hate doing it...
Our word for this week is:
Up
How in the world does this guy keep that pumpkin up there on top of his head?!
1. Peace In Our Time - Gorky Park 2. Soldiers Of Peace - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 3. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) - George Harrison
These three songs meet both requirements!
3 Artists who sung about peace or bring you peace.
1. Neil Young 2. John Lennon 3. The Scorpions
Pacifists, each and every one!
3 Albums with Peace in the title, or that bring you peace.
1. Living With War - Neil Young (about peace A.K.A. anti-war) 2. Thank You 4 - Michael Schenker (brings me peace, also SLEEP!) 3. American Idiot - Green Day (anti-war, anti-Bush!)
This week, more questions from our fellow participants!
1. If you could only read one blog every day- which one blog would be on your daily list? If I can only read one blog every day, I can have seven blogs on my list, one for each day of the week... My sister, Elena, Samantha, Russ, SAP, Khushrenada13, and Julie would each have a day.
2. What do you do to de-stress from a hectic day? Lots of really loud metal music!
3. What is your favorite piece of clothing to wear in the winter? My fleece snowman robe. It's getting pretty ratty. I'm gonna mis it when it falls apart. So nice and warm and comfy to snuggle up in when I get home from work!
4. Do you prefer discussing problems with a sibling, a parent, a significant other, a psychologist, or a total stranger? I prefer to bottle my problems up inside until I explode! Then whoever is handy gets to hear all about them.
5. How long have you been blogging? About three and a half years, give or take a month or two...
6. Which side of the bed? Since I sleep alone, any side that I want!
7. How often do you pig out when you eat? I must pig out at least once a week, usually on Sunday. It makes watching what I eat for the rest of the week much easier.
8. Do you watch the space shuttle launches? I couldn't watch, even if I wanted to. They do those things during my working hours.
9. What's your favorite leisure-time activity? Er... Um...
You just HAD to ask, didn't you?!
10. When is the last time you said, 'I love you' and to whom? What about hugs? Who is the last person you hugged? The most recent recipient of my affections is my son, Michael, in both instances. I'm fairly certain that I was being sarcastic, and he didn't appreciate the hug!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
A lazy holiday weekend is a great time to listen to LOTS of random and freaky music.
Here are the first ten of this morning!
1. American Idiot - Green Day 2. Could I've Been So Blind? - The Black Crowes 3. Destroyed By You - Vanilla Ninja 4. Talk Dirty To Me - Poison 5. Poison Ivy - Faster Pussycat 6. I Wanna Be Free - The Monkees 7. Either Side Of The Same Town - Elvis Costello 8. Blue World - The Moody Blues 9. The Core - Eric Clapton 10. Life Vacation - Michael Schenker Group
Let's hear it for my eclectic musical taste! You don't get many mixes that are weirder than this one.
And now for the picture...
Ooooo! It's that "Sex Bomb" Russian figure skater. I can't get enough of him. Michael is gonna kill me if I watch that You Tube clip one more time!

Veteran's Day 2006
Today is the day set aside here in the U.S. for honoring the nation's veterans.
No matter what your nation, though, take some time to hug a veteran today!
Lady Starlight faults no one for being a patriot, agree or disagree with his politics.
Top Five Artists/Bands that should just stop singing. (Tell us why you chose them too)
1. Celine (Sealion) Dion - Actually, I think that the sealion make a sound more pleasing than her voice!
2. Whitney Houston - I ceased to enjoy her music when she decided to take singing lessons. If she wants to be an opera star, she should go sing in the opera!
3. Christina Aguilera (however you spell her name) - SKANK! A local one, too! Put your freaking clothes on and sing, or go away!
4. Shania Twain - I bet if she got fat, no one would buy her CDs. Are we selling music or SEX?!
5. Metallica - May people "steal" your music more and more every day! For starting all of the crap with the RIAA you deserve musical death!
Thirteen albums that I own on vinyl that I would like to find on CD
1. Collage - Paul Revere & The Raiders 2. Alive - KISS (The original release, not the newer one) 3. I'm No Hero - Cliff Richard 4. Silverbird - Mark Lindsay 5. Somewhere In England - George Harrison 6. Pieces Of 8 - Styx 7. Trans - Neil Young 8. Daylight Again - Crosby, Stills & Nash 9. Reactor - Neil Young 10. Caribou - Elton John 11. Cuts Like A Knife - Bryan Adams 12. X - Chicago 13. Hard And Heavy With Marshmallow - Paul Revere & The Raiders
Some of these are readily available and have been wishlisted, others I can't find anywhere...

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
Many people did this in the U.S. yesterday, but few of them won.
Our word for this week is:
Run
Look at all of these goats running away from what....
ME!

Random Pittsburgh Photos
Courtesy of my favorite new toy, my camera/mp3 player/cell phone.
An interesting shot of the Cathedral Of Learning
An old-time Coke ad
The tower dorms at The University of Pittsburgh look just like big Thermos bottles!
Using the letters in your name (first, last, both, whatever), describe your life!
Listening to music each morning awakens me. Another day of delightful postal work awaits me. Driving the short five miles to work seems like a hundred! Yikes! That's a lot of mail!
Soon enough, my workday comes to an end. Travelling home can be annoying at 5 PM! At long last, I am home. Relaxing a bit at my computer before dinner. Listening to more music! I prefer Michael Schenker and The Scorpions. Go to curves if I have the time. Hopefully there will be something good on TV. Too tired to stay awake. Time for bed!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
While I could list the tracks from the new CDs that I bought this weekend, it's so much more fun to list the first ten random tracks that Media Player selects for me...
Here ya go!
1. It's Not Love - Dokken 2. I Don't Know - Paul Revere & The Raiders 3. Hound Dog - Eric Clapton 4. All Revved Up With No Place To Go - Meat Loaf 5. Blue World - The Moody Blues 6. Love Is A Rose - Linda Ronstadt 7. New Generation - The Scorpions 8. Alone Again - Dokken 9. Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi 10. Touch The Hand - Bryan Adams
