Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
This often flies, and none of us seem to have enough of it...
Our word for this week is:
Time
Can you see what time it was when I took this photo?
Are there any bands that you've seen live that didn't impress you, or that sounded better on CD? The only concert that I ever saw that completely bored me was Billy Joel in 1982. I suppose that it was just that particular tour, because when I saw him again in '84, I really enjoyed the show.
Live albums? Love em or hate em? Why? Live albums are great for giving you a feel about how a particular band sounds live, but... BORING! If you're familiar with a band's material, live albums seldom ever contain anything new.
MTV started the "Unplugged" concept...do you have any favorites and what are your feelings on the "Unplugged" series. Unplugged sucks! If it was written to be plugged in, it should stay that way. The Scorpions' Acoustica is one of very few "unplugged" albums that I can tolerate. Eric Clapton's unplugged version of Layla is the worst unplugged piece of crap that I ever heard. He doesn't even attempt the guitar work that makes the song special on this version...
What is your favorite live act? Neil Young
Neil always puts on a good show!
Actually, I am convinced that all of the bands that I really love hate me...
Most of them I've never seen live because they never seem to play shows anywhere near here.
1. How many times a month/year do you see the sunrise? I drive to work at around 6:30 AM so when the sun rises between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, I naturally see it on my way to work. On days when I'm not working, sunrises be damned. I'm nestled all snug in my bed when the sun comes up!
2. How many times a week/month do you see the sunset? Sunsets are my favorite. I find myself looking at them on most days.
3. Do you go out at night and "gaze" at the stars? I don't go out to intentionally gaze at the stars, but if I am outdoors at night my gaze is inevitably drawn to them.
4. Do you ever look for star clusters, such as the big dipper, etc? I usually seek out the big and little dippers. The others are just a bit to complicated for me to seek out.
5. Do you look for planets at night (with or without a telescope)? Venus (the evening star) is the only planet I am able to spot...
6. Are you able to see the northern lights where you live? If so, about how often do they come around? No, I don't live THAT far north!
7. Do you like going outside during a thunderstorm and watching the lightening? No, as a matter of fact I hate to be outside during a storm, even when my job dictates that I must be. The reason, fear!
8. Do you have any really neat weather pictures? PLEASE, feel free to share them!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Another interesting shuffle from WinAmp... Of course, you wouldn't know it from my profile on Last FM... Scrobbling has been down more often than not!
1. Miss You In A Heartbeat - Def Leppard 2. Inject The Venom - AC/DC 3. Ride On - Wildhorses 4. Wasted Years - Iron Maiden 5. Ride The Wind - Poison 6. Still Got The Blues - Gary Moore 7. Foolin' - Def Leppard 8. Because Of You - Nickelback 9. Rude Awakening - Michael Schenker Group 10. Nothing - Kelly Keeling
A nice little mix, but the photo is even better...
Top five songs that mention things in the sky in the title. (This could be anything...stars, planes, birds, clouds....etc)
1. Lady Starlight - Scorpions 2. Setting Sun - Michael Schenker Group 3. Tequila Sunrise - Eagles 4. Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon - Paul Revere & the Raiders 5. Rainbow In The Rose - Winger

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
It's here! It's here! At least for those of us in the northern hemisphere...
This week's word is:
Summer
Flowers are beautiful and plentiful in the summer months.
What's the best music to chill out to for a day at the beach or the pool? Personally, I can chill to the Scorpions and Michael Schenker any time, anyplace, anywhere... But some nice 60s surf music is also good, The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, etc... Jimmy Buffett is another good one for summertime fun music.
Do you have any favorite summer/beach themed songs? Some great summertime instrumentals.. Wipe Out, Theme from Hawaii Five-O
What's the best place to turn up the "Heat" for summer music in your area or somewhere you've vacationed? (ie concert venues, clubs what have you) I can't think of a single place locally, but there are loads of good concerts at The Borgata in Atlantic City in the summertime. The fact that the place feels like a freaking icebox is a definite plus on hot summer days.
What song best epitomizes a day at the beach for you. Cheesburger In Paradise - Jimmy Buffett
1. In your opinion, what is the perfect summer daytime temperature? Somewhere in the low 80s is nice. Much hotter than that and the humidity here becomes opressive!
2. What is the perfect nighttime temperature? In the 60s I suppose. I don't pay much attention to night time temperatures except when it is cold...
3. Do you plant many flowers around your yard? My son, Michael, is the gardener in the family. He loves to plant fowers in the yard, I just do the good stuff, looking at them!
4. How much lawn do you have to mow? Do you enjoy mowing lawn? Michael also does the mowing.... I'm glad that I have a Michael. I don't think I'd like mowing my hilly lawn very much.
5. Of the summer months, which is your favorite? July, for no obvious reason...
6. Do you take a long vacation each summer? No, I usually take a couple of short weekend trips.
7. Is summer your favorite season? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, because I love warm weather and hate the cold...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Here's this week's Sunday morning shuffle...
1. It's Only Love - Def Leppard 2. Back Seat Confidential - AC/DC 3. Money Bought - Nickelback 4. Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion) - Def Leppard 5. Still Loving You (Live) - Scorpions 6. School's Out - Alice Cooper 7. Into The Fire - Dokken 8. Heaven Can Wait - Iron Maiden 9. Evil Walks - AC/DC 10. I Want To Be Loved - Bon Jovi
*sniff* Win Amp seemed to dislike Michael Schenker this morning...
1. Do you listen to the radio, or a CD, when you're driving in your car? I can't stand car noise! I also can't stand radio, so there is nearly always a CD playing when I am driving my car. I even bought special speakers for my MP3 player so that I can have music in my postal vehicle...
2. Do you have one of those GPS systems in your vehicle? Yeah. It is made of paper and is folded up in my glovebox. It's called a map!!
3. About how many miles do you put on your vehicle in a month? On the average about 700, a little more in the summer months, a little less in winter.
4. Do you have your oil changed regularly? About twice a year... If I remember...
5. Do you take your vehicle to a car wash or do you wash it at home? Ummm... I let the rain do the washing. Seriously, I believe that the dirt helps to hold the old girl together!
6. How often do you have the inside of your vehicle cleaned? Do you do it yourself or do you pay someone to do it? What sort of neat freak wrote these questions?! I don't let trash collect in my car. What you take in, you take out upon leaving, but cleaning the inside of the car, other than that and dusting off the dashboard... You're joking! Right?
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Time to see what was shuffling this weekend!
1. Broken - Kelly Keeling 2. Shout It Out Loud - KISS 3. Pretending - H.I.M. 4. You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi 5. Fire In The Sky - Saxon 6. Fade Away - Seether 7. Now - Def Leppard 8. One - Dokken 9. I Want Action - Poison 10. Forever And More - Michael Schenker Group
Now that's a lovely mix of metal!
And now for the picture...
A lovely shot of the bridge at The Waterfront, Home of the Rock Bottom Brewery!
1. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - The Beatles 2. Break On Through - The Doors 3. Strange Brew - Cream 4. After The Gold Rush - Neil Young 5. Woodstock - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
No, they're not all from 1967, but I don't care. They fit my definition of psychedelic...
As for the top five sayings from the summer of love, I have but one...
"Make love, not war!"
Pretty relevant, even today!

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
Eat, do this, and be merry, I am told...
Our word for the week is:
Drink
Believe it or not, there is a margarita in that garbage can! Mmmmm... Tasty!
What albums would you be spinning...or did you spin (depending on your age) I was still a bit young to be spinning my own records back in 1967. Instead I was listening to the records that my brother was spinning. Heck, the whole neighborhood listened to the records that he was spinning! As for the specific albums, I couldn't tell you what they were. I like 60's music. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia for my childhood, but it is not my favorite type of music... I'm certain that I heard plenty of Beatles, Stones, Monkees, Doors... Mostly I just listened to the music that was playing on the radio... KQV and WIXZ (AM) were the popular rock radio stations back then...
The Monkees or The Beatles...which would be..or which was your favorite band or do you like them both. That is very much like comparing apples and bananas! They are alike in some ways and very different in others, but I have always liked both the Fab Four and the Prefab Four! =))
What song do you think sums up the feeling of the Summer Of Love the best? Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - The Beatles
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
This week's list is brought to you by Win Amp, shuffle the metal mix...
1. Driven Under - Seether 2. When Will It End - Wildhorses 3. TY 4....#5 - Michael Schenker 4. Women - Def Leppard 5. This House Is On Fire - AC/DC 6. Pulling Weeds - Faster Pussycat 7. Welcome To My Nightmare - Alice Cooper 8. Don't Make No Promises (Your Body Can't Keep) - Scorpions 9. He's Gonna Step On You Again - Def Leppard 10. The Price - Twisted Sister
Well, maybe Michael's acoustic instrumental feels a tiny bit out place here...
And now for the picture...
Wallabies! Oh how I love them!
