1. What music do you associate with vacations? I suppose that would have to be The Moody Blues, since so many road trips involved seeing them...
2. Are there any albums that you seem to listen to more in the summer than the other seasons? If so what are they? I don't think that my listening habits change all that much with the seasons, but I MIGHT be just a little more likely to bust out my Beach Boys albums in the summertime... It's only natural!
3. What music do you like to listen to when your sitting out in the sun catching the rays (or just relaxing in the outdoors) If relaxing is the key word here, then these two albums would definitely be playing...
Thank You 4.... - Michael Schenker
Thank You Volume 3 - Michael Schenker
The acoustic guitar work on these is like drugs for me!!! It makes me spacey...

Taz!
Look at what my friend in Australia sent me!
Tasmanian devils!
It seems they're plentiful when you live in Tasmania!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
This week's list is brought to you by Win Amp, 'cos I got sick of Media Player changing my tags...
1. You Are The Saint, I Am The Sinner - Winger 2. Electric Phase - UFO 3. Hide Your Heart - KISS 4. Journey Man - Michael Schenker Group 5. Detroit Rock City - KISS 6. Life Goes On - Michael Schenker Group 7. The Legacy - Iron Maiden 8. Rock And Roll All Nite - KISS 9. What Do You Do For Money - AC/DC 10. No Class - Motörhead
This week we're doing something a little different. Musical Recall 5, 10 & 15
What were your favorite songs albums or artists or all three....5 years ago....10 years ago.....15 years ago..... That's a lot to ask of my tired old brain, so I'll just list some bands that I've been fond of since the 90's and earlier.... 1. Def Leppard 2. Poison 3. Bon Jovi 4. Scorpions 5. The Beatles 6. Neil Young Is that enough? Ouch! My brain hurts!
1. Name one thing you received as a gift on your last birthday. Have I mentioned that I don't have birthdays anymore? November 20 is merely buy me a present day. I do believe that a day of dining and gambling at Wheeling Island Casino was one of my gifts last November...
1. What would be the "perfect" birthday gift? Michael Schenker!!!!!
~drools~
3. Do you look forward to birthdays? I don't even call them birthdays anymore. What do you think? At my age, I can do without getting older...
4. On your birthday, do you treat yourself to something special each year? Going out to dinner on "that day" is a must!
5. Do you bother keeping up with your horoscope on a regular basis? I have it posted to my Yahoo page. Sometimes I read it, sometimes I don't...
6. What zodiac sign are you, and do you think you fit the description for that sign? I'm a classic example of the Scorpio personality...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Another strangely random mix, spat out by my Media Player
1. Make Your Own Way - Cinderella 2. Coming Of Age - Damn Yankees 3. On The Phone - Julian Lennon 4. Ohio -Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 5. Coast To Coast - Scorpions 6. Blue Collar Man - Styx 7. If I Could Turn Back Time - Cher 8. Hard To Handle - The Black Crowes 9. Perfect Day - Kelly Keeling 10. Suitcase - Justin Hayward
Definitely strange and random...
And now for the picture...
The Three Bird Stooges Because going out to dinner with the estranged one and my two sons feels like dining with the three stooges...
This is quite difficult for me, as there is a reason that I just don't like certain artists, that being that their music just plain sucks (IMHO)...
1. How Will I Know - Whitney Houston 2. Breathe - Faith Hill 3. Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow 4. Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy - Big & Rich 5. Girls Lie Too - Terri Clark
I guess it's pretty obvious that there are two musical things that I generally don't like, female artists and country!

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
For some of us going here is a very short trip!
Our word for the week is:
Crazy
Our new kitten is on the kitchen table, destroying the tablecloth! And she looks at me as though I am the crazy one!!!!
What musical formats do you remember (CD, Cassette, LP etc)? CDs, cassettes, 8 tracks, reel to reel tapes, LPs... I remember them all. Damn! I'm old.
What was your favorite format 5 years ago? 10? What is it now? Five years ago it was much as it is today, CDs. Ten years ago, it may have been cassettes. Twenty years ago it was vinyl. I miss vinyl...
What was your first portable music player? What is your current portable music player? That would be my doggie radio... AM! I think that I got it for Christmas in 1969. I loved that thing.
1. Which web browser do you prefer? Definitely Firefox... If for some reason I need to view a page in IE, it has a plug in that allows me to do it without switching browsers.
2. Are you a PC user or MAC user? I'm a PC girl. Macs are too expensive for my budget.
3. Will your next computer purchase happen within the next year (do you think)? My computers are ancient, both at least six years old. I'd like to replace at least my laptop sometime this year.
4. Will you purchase your next computer at a local store or via the internet? I have my eye on a nice, affordable laptop at the local Wal Mart...
5. Have you had any experience with Windows Vista? None whatsoever. I have no desire to purchase a new operating system at the ridiculous prices they charge. I didn't install Windows XP until I was able to obtain a pirated copy.
6. What are your feelings about this new operating system (if any)? Microsoft should perfect the old operating systems instead of always creating new ones.
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
My Mother's Day montage of metal... (Well, maybe there is just a bit of other stuff mixed in...)
1. Someday - Nickelback 2. Danger - Gorky Park 3. Back On The Ground - Helloween 4. Stand By Me - John Lennon 5. I'd Die For You - Bon Jovi 6. Teach Your Children -Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 7. TY 4....#10 - Michael Schenker 8. Cause I Love You - Scorpions 9. Hysteria - Def Leppard 10. Love Trade - Michael Schenker Group
About 70% metal. Gotta have just a little bit of something else mixed in to make you all say, "WTF?!"
And now for the picture...
Awwww! Michael planted the flower bed for his mom today! Wasn't that sweet? Isn't it cute?

I Miss The Birds
I've never been fond of birds, until last week. Spending quality time with the birds at the National Aviary last weekend changed my mind about them.
Some were quite friendly and love to pose, and even let you pet them...
Like these guys.
Others were just pretty to look at...
No matter, I wish that I could go visit these feathered friends every day!
This weekend is "Mother's Day" so we're going to go with a "Mom" theme.
Top Five "Mom" songs (songs about mothers, or by mothers or that make you think of your mom..or you can take the "mom" theme and run with it)
1. Mama Told Me Not To Come - Three Dog Night 2. Holy Mother - Eric Clapton 3. California Dreamin' - The Mamas and The Papas 4. Mama Kin - Guns 'N Roses 5. You Mama Don't Dance - Poison

Useful Information
At midnight on May 14, 2007, the cost to mail a one ounce domestic first class letter in The United States will increase from 39¢ to 41¢. Mail out your bills now to beat the increase! Of course, there will be 2¢ stamps available if you have lots of leftover stamps at the old rate, but buy early, 'cos they usually sell out quickly and take a while to restock.
The disgruntled postal worker has spoken.

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
What is your favorite way to share music with your friends? That depends upon my friend's internet capabilities. I will happily upload files for a friend with a broadband connection. A friend with a dial up or (GASP) no internet connection will receive a burned CD.
What song or album do you feel the need to share with anyone who will listen? This one...
I wonder if that old dude on my route ever bought a copy. He heard it playing in my truck and loved it!
Do you ever lend your CDs/tapes/etc to friends or family? Hmmm.. Doesn't a certain meme mistress have an old vinyl album of mine on display in her room so that she can admire the pretty picture on the cover?! I guess that means my answer is yes.
Did you ever discover a musical love because someone shared something with you? (mp3? Mix CD or tape) My friend, Maria, has introduced me to several artists, including Vanilla Ninja, Dima Bilan, and H.I.M.

The Pittsburgh Pigeon
And the award for best "do" on a pigeon goes to....
I wonder if he'll share the name of his hairdresser...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
There is nothing that helps me unwind at the end of a busy weekend quite like a bit of really random music...
1. Stick To Your Guns - Bon Jovi 2. China White - Scorpions 3. Sister Luck - The Black Crowes 4. Make It Real - Scorpions 5. TY 4....#13 - Michael Schenker 6. The City - Jimmy Buffett 7. Sometimes At Night - Gorky Park 8. Love And Affection - Def Leppard 9. Indian Reservation - Paul Revere & The Raiders 10. Something - The Beatles
It doesn't get much more random than that!
And now for the picture...
Pretty birds seen at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA...
Yeah, I was in Pittsburgh and I didn't post a picture of that building!!
What is your favorite record/CD shop? Is it still in existence? I honestly don't believe that there are any really good physical music stores left. Back in my high school days, Dee's Record Shop was where I bought all of my music. Alas the years have turned it into more of a video rental place these days, although I have still made an occasional musical find there. F Y E is the only music store around these days with any amount of selection, but their prices are outrageous!
Do you still buy most of your CDs in stores or do you purchase music online? I buy most of my music at CD Universe these days...
What music store do you consider the world's best kept secret. (Meaning you can find anything there)? If there is such a place, they're keeping it a secretfrom me as well...
What was one "hidden treasure" you found while shopping for music? Kelly Keeling's Giving Sight To The Eye was definitely a well hidden treasure.
About the only place that it can be found is on EBay, but it IS worth it!
