Men! Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em! This week's thirteen is just for them...
Thirteen things that all me need to learn
1. If it exits your body and enters the toilet it must always be flushed! Whatever it is, we don't want to discover it fermenting six hours later.
2. What goes up must come down! I'm not talking about gravity. I refer to the toilet seat.
3. If you're lost, ask for directions. You'll get to your destination much more quickly and in one piece!
4. Real life is not like The Red Green Show. Not everything can be fixed by using coathangers and duct tape.
5. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!
6. Red + White = Pink! Remember this if you do the laundry!
7. If you don't have the body of a Greek God, keep your freaking clothes on!
8. NOTHING makes your significant other look fat. Remember this and respond promptly when asked.
9. Channel surfing is NOT an Olympic sport.
10. Neither is synchronized farting!
11. Never hit a lady, some of them hit back!(The smart ones)
12. Size DOES matter.
13. No matter how good-looking you may happen to think you are, you are not God's gift to the world. Get over yourself!

Hump Day Hunt
It's time for the weekly photo meme from the folks at Foto Pherrets
I'm still searching for the one that offers eternal youth. Our word for this week is:
Fountain
This fountain in Phipp's Conservatory offers a bit of eternal youth to visitors. Its controls are public. You can control the water's patterns and the lighting. What fun!
It's another rainy day in the Greater Pittsburgh Area...
What songs make you think of rain or a rainy day? Another Rainy Day In New York City - Chicago November Rain -Guns 'N Roses Rainy Days And Mondays - The Carpenters Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - B. J. Thomas Here Comes The Rain Again - The Eurythmics
What songs make you think of storms? Thunder Child - John Lodge
Knock On Wood - Eric Clapton "It's like thunder Lightning The way you love me is frightening...."
The Needle And The Damage Done - Neil Young The version of this song on the album Live Rust was recorded during a rainstorm.
Did you ever listen to music to soothe yourself during a particularly nasty storm? (What music was it, if you can remember) I can't remember ever listening to music during a storm. Depending on my mood I am either cowering somewhere in fear or watching in wonder during a storm. Usually it's the former...
What kind of music do you like to listen to on a rainy day? Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles I don't like rainy days. But, seriously, I think that the music that I listen to is effected more by my moods than the weather.
What is the strongest craving you get? Pizza! The reason is that I am a mail carrier. On Wednesday and Friday I deliver the sale ads for the local grocery stores. These ads are nearly always inside a wrapper featuring coupons and ads for local pizza chains. Looking at the pizzas on several hundred of those things twice a week makes me crave pizza like crazy!
Of all your favorite foods, which one would you find the most difficult to give up completely for the rest of your life? I confess! Although I am an animal lover, I am also a hopeless carnivore! I am so ashamed. I've tried to do the vegetarian thing in the past and failed miserably. Although many meat replacement products are quite tasty, they just can't satisfy my cravings for the real thing.
This week's questions are all about Photography...
1. Do you own a digital camera? I own two digital cameras, both Kodak Easy Shares.
2. What is your camera of choice? My camera of choice for daily use is my CX6330. It is smaller and easier to carry around, but it still has features like 10x zoom. It is the less expensive of my two cameras.
For special occasions I choose my DX6490. It is bigger and bulkier but it also combines features that cannot be combined on the less expensive camera. The color quality is also a bit better.
3. If you're a digital camera fan, do you print your own photos, or do you send them in to be printed? If you send them in, do you have a favorite place? I seldom ever get prints of my photos. I do the majority of my photo sharing online. When I do get prints made I either print them myself or take the files to WalMart.
4. How many pictures do you take a month? There is no definite answer to this question. Some months I may only take ten or twenty photos, others I may take hundreds! It all depends upon what is happening in my life.
5. How many of those pictures actually get printed? Since I do most of my photo sharing online, almost none of them ever get printed.
6. Are you planning on purchasing a new camera in the near future? I have no definite plans to buy a new camera any time soon, but that doesn't mean I won't buy one if I see that it has good features for a reasonable price.
7. CHALLENGE: Go check out Favorite Five Photos and Foto Pherrets and choose just ONE photo to share. I am Mama Pherret, and as such, thank Otto for promoting the meme!
Our word for last week was statue, so here's another one!
There were many statues to be found in Hershey Gardens. This one was one of my favorites! (I guess this photo would qualify for BOTH memes)
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Much of this weekend was spent tending to the needs of an ailing cat, so I could have just posted a bunch of songs from the musical, Cats, but that would be no fun! Instead I'll post the random songs that Media player selected this evening to soothe my shattered nerves...
1. Run So Far - Eric Clapton 2. Skywriter - The Scorpions 3. We Let It Rock, You Let It Roll - The Scorpions 4. Eye To Eye - The Scorpions 5. Taxman - The Beatles 6. Blood Too Hot - The Scorpions 7. When We Was Fab - George Harrison 8. Happens Every Day - Paul Revere & The Raiders 9. Novocaine - Bon Jovi 10. No Pain, No Gain (Live) - The Scorpions
Media Player was very sensitive to my needs this week and gave me LOTS of Scorpions!
And now for the picture...
You were expecting a picture of the cat, weren't you? That would have been too obvious! Instead I chose this lovely lily that was growing on my route.

A Snowman In Hawaii!
Here's the latest incarnation of the snowman for all seasons...
It would seem that my snowy weather friend has "gone troppo!" It's not often that you see a snowman wearing leis and a hula skirt.
There are ten commandments in The Bible. They're really good ones, but there are some things that I think should be added to them if we'd really like this world to be a better place!
The thirteen commandments of Lady Starlight
I Thou shalt not try to convert others to your religion. God expresses his (her) presence in different ways to different people. Do not be so arrogant as to think that the way that God is expressed to you is the best or only way.
II Thou shalt not criticize consenting adults for what they choose to do in their bedrooms. God has more important things to worry about than someone's sexual preferences.
III Thou shalt not be selfish with the blessings that have been given unto you. Those who share freely will receive many more blessings in return.
IV Thou shalt not pass judgement upon anyone for what tou considers to be her sins. Leave the judgement to the hands of God.
V Thou shalt not abuse any of God's creatures great or small.
VI Thou shalt not hate anyone merely because of the color of his skin.
VII Thou shalt not start "Holy Wars." There is no such thing. Wars are murder and murder is evil. PERIOD!
VIII Thou shalt forgive others for the wrongs that they have done. God offers forgiveness, so should you.
IX Thou shalt learn when to quit. Innocent teasing may be funny or cute the first time, but if continued for too long it becomes hurtful.
X Thou shalt take responsibility for thine own actions. There is no song, movie or video game that can force you to do anything. You have free will.
XI Thou shalt help others in times of need, for someday thou might find thyself to be the one in need...
XII Thou shalt not determine another's worth by the size of her bank account. There is much in life that is more valuable than money.
XIII Thou shalt remember that actions speak louder than words. It is much more important to show love than it is to speak of it.

Hump Day Hunt
It's the time of week for another meme from the photography loving Foto Pherrets.
It stands by silently, watching over us all. Our word for this week is:
Statue
This statue keeps its silent vigil in front of the post office in Monongahela, PA, where I work. He's an historic landmark!

I Need Chocolate!
The preparations for the upcoming changes at work are driving me crazy! Don't tell me what a short trip that is. I already know!
What I really need to soothe myself is alcohol, massive quantities of it, but there is none of that to be found around here. There are, however, still massive quantities of chocolate on hand, thanks to my recent trip here...
1. How many cop shows can you name? Lots! Law And Order, CSI, Cold Case, Barney Miller, The Rookies, Adam 12, Dragnet, Policewoman, Car 54 Where Are You?, The Steets Of San Francisco, T J Hooker...
2. Do you send text messages? Although my cell phone service plan includes plenty of text messages, I seldom, if ever, send them. Typing words on a telephone keypad is a big ol' pain in the you-know-what!
3. If you could be on a gameshow (current or old), which one would you be on and why? Supermarket Sweep, for no reason other than the fact that I want to run around a grocery store throwing all of the most expensive items in my cart!
4. What are some of your favorite websites? Neo Pets, I am a confessed neo-holic! Ill Will Press - Foamy is my lord and master! Many meme sites - I love doing memes! (see sidebar for links)
5. What are your favorite things about the internet? Meeting people from all over the world. Collecting photos of potential members of my "Harem Of Men!" (LOL)
6. What about least favorite? "The Moody Bitches" What a lot of nasty wankers they are!
7. What are some good ways to deal with a pet loss? Losing a pet is losing a beloved family member. Do not be ashamed to grieve! Give your loved one a proper burial and keep its memory alive in your heart. Only time can ease the pain. I still find myself crying over the loss of my Layla from time to time...
If you were determining who could immigrate here, would you let in those who you thought would contribute the most to our country or those in the most need of refuge? Sometimes it seems that we have forgotten that this country was founded by people who were seeking refuge from all manner of persecution and poverty. So it would seem that people in need of refuge can make great contributions to our nation. To deny such people the right to immigrate here is to deny our very heritage.
"Waves big like a house They're stranded on a piece of wood To leave it all behind To start again But instead of a new life All they find is a door that's closed And they keep looking for A place called home..."
Would you vote for a political candidate who was honest, competent, and concurred with your position on most issues if you also knew she was an alcoholic who was promiscuous? If a candidate is honest, competent, and in agreement with me on major issues, I will vote for her (or him). A candidate's personal life is his (or her) own business. If it does not interfere with the candidate's ability to do the job (and I assume that it does not, since it is stated that the candidate is competent), it should not even be considered. Some of the greatest leaders of all time have had personal lives that some people might consider "iffy."

Beautiful Birthday Boy!
"Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I'm sixty-four..."
Yes, Sir Paul McCartney celebrates his sixty-fourth birthday today!
And although stump... erm... I mean, Heather Mills, may not want him anymore, I'd be more than happy to need him and feed him. Bring on the Boca Burgers!
So, don't pout, my pretty Paulie!
Plenty of us still love you now that you're sixty-four!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Come one! Come all! Be amazed by the oddness of Media Player's shuffle play feature!
1. My Generation - Gorky Park 2. Restless Nights - The Scorpions 3. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day 4. Behind The Sun - Eric Clapton 5. Seeing Things - The Black Crowes 6. The Next Time I Fall - Peter Cetera & Amy Grant 7. Boogaloo Down Broadway - Paul Revere & The Raiders 8. Shelter Me - Cinderella 9. Riding Into Vanity Fair - Paul McCartney 10. Lady Willpower - Gary Puckett
If that ain't an odd combination, I don't know what is!
And now for the picture...
I watched this movie on pay per view today. What a hoot!
I also learned a few things from it:
Jim Belushi should never be asked to do a German accent. Gary has some rather interesting relatives, Granny & Red Puckett!

Somebody's Watching Me!
No, it's not who you think it is, It's these cute little critters...
These calves have taken up residence in the pasture where my favorite horse used to romp. He has moved to higher ground with a new friend of his own species.
WAH! He doesn't love me anymore!
Fortunately, these guys seem to find me amusing. It gets lonely out there on my route. I need some diversions.
1. I have a picture ofThe Scorpionson my computer desktop.
You weren't really expecting something else, were you?
2. There aretwopictures hanging on my living room walls. One is print of a little boy. The other is an eagle.
3. My big goal for this week is totrain my new sub at work. Hopefully there will be no more unexpected changes in scheduling to prevent this from happening.
4. I plan to visitall of my friend'sblogs this week. Even though some of them have not updated since last October!!! *hint* You know who you are!
5. The weather we're having right now isnot as warm as I would like it to be. Bring on those balmy summer nights! I'm more than ready for them...
6. I really shoulddo my laundrymore often. It seems that I always wait until I have nothing left to wear...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
It's back to those wonderful random lists created by Media Player this week!
1. Money And Fame - The Scorpions 2. Ball And Chain - Poison 3. That's What It Takes - George Harrison 4. Run So Far - George Harrison 5. Within Your Eyes - Gorky Park 6. Rebel Road - Wild Horses 7. Never Goin' Home - Wild Horses 8. I'm Not Your Stepping Stone - Paul Revere & The Raiders 9. Women - Def Leppard 10. Out On The Road - Paul Revere & The Raiders
Now that's a damned weird mix! What can I say? My taste in music is very eclectic, to say the least...
And now for the picture...
Hush! Don't tell this dog that I am the mail carrier. She thinks that I get paid to bring treats and play with her!

Has Anybody Seen This Dog?
This is Rex. Rex is a very sweet female dog who is one of my best buddies. She loves to play in the mud and get dirty. She is very affectionate.
Rex has gone missing!
Her owners have searched high and low for her to no avail. She has been missing for several months. They have given up hope of ever finding her. I have not.
Rex resided in Fallowfield Township (PA) not far from Route 43 and the Ringgold High School. If you have seen her, PLEASE, contact me!
I miss my buddy. Dead or alive, I would like to know what happened to her.
