10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Another weekend at the Wheeling Island Casino, this time to celebrate "the estranged one's" birthday. I was an extra nice girl. I let him stop at Cabela's on the way home. Much to my surprise it was rather impressive!
1. But The Best For You - The Scorpions 2. Always Somewhere - The Scorpions 3. Moment Of Glory - The Scorpions with The Berlin Philharmonic 4. Question - The Moody Blues 5. Another Girl - The Beatles 6. American Pie - Don McLean 7. You Got Lucky - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 8. Walk Like An Egyptian - The Bangles 9. When Will It End - Wild Horses 10. California Freedom - Wild Horses
Songs 1 - 3 and 9 -10 were travel music. Songs 4 -6 were heard being played randomly in the places we visited. Songs 7 - 8 are in honor of my winning $20 playing the 2ยข Cleopatra slots!
And now for the picture...
Can anyone say "taxidermy"?

Wow! Thanks to the return of my evil car that likes my sister better than me, I was actually able to go somewhere this weekend!
The first three songs on my list are random songs that I heard played at Wheeling Island Casino. The rest are my usual random fare from Media Player...

Soldiers Of Peace - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 6. Big Guns - Skid Row 7. Amanda - Boston 8. I'd Have You Anytime - George Harrison 9. Stare It Cold - The Black Crowes 10. Memory - Michael Crawford

It Came From Out Of Nowhere!
I was driving down Kevech Road on my mail route when suddenly it came to me from out of the blue. It was prompted by nothing, but there it was, invading my mind. It was a song, a blast from the past, and now it is hopelessly stuck in my head. The song was by these guys...
Well, not exactly! This photo is of Paul Revere and the Raiders in 1968. Left to right they are Paul Revere, Freddy Weller, Mark Lindsay, Joe Corerro Jr., and Charlie Coe. The song which made its way into my head is from one of the band's later albums (1972). By then the band had shortened the name to simply The Raiders, and Corerro and Coe were replaced by Mike Smith and Keith Allison, respectively.
The song invading my brain is called Country Wine. The title of the album it is from completely eludes me. I know that it is part of my vinyl collection and is packed away somewhere in storage. I need to find it. I need to play it over and over so that this stupid song will go away. I have not been able to find a CD copy of the album anywhere. Believe me, I've looked. Of course, it would help if I could remember the album's title. Other than the year of its release, all that I can remember about it is the title of one other song that appeared on it, Powder Blue Mercedes Queen.
Can anyone help me?

Beautify Our Town
Spring weather has finally arrived. With sunny skies and warm temperatures, walks are definitely on the agenda. Of course, my camera usually comes along with me.
Last year, while I was on such a walk, I was amused by this sign, sponsored by The Charleroi Shade Tree And Beautification Commission.
From the looks of things there, they really have their work cut out for them!
Nearly a year has passed since that photo was taken. Let's see what they've accomplished...

The Hump Day Hunk
I would like to dedicate this week's hump day hunkiness to the idiot who arrived at this blog by googling the question, "Is Matthias Jabs going bald?"
Observe the hatless photo above the post title, moron! Although Mati may be suffering from a bit of what I affectionately call "middle aged man hairline", he sure as hell isn't going bald. He's 49, hon, in case you didn't know. These things happen. The truth be told, every single hair on his head could fall out and he'd still be the most beautiful creature that God ever created (IMAO)!
Now, behold the beauty that is Matthias Jabs!
Note that the man has plenty of hair under the hat!

In honor of the lovely spring weather we've been having, the word for this week is: Blossom
One of many blossoms seen at the spring flower show at Phipp's Conservatory this spring!

The Easter "Eggspiriment"
Maybe I've been watching too much on The Food Network. I am suddenly inspired to find uses for all of those eggs that we colored for the holiday. A person can only munch on so many hard cooked eggs, ya know...
Egg salad is my usual way of disposing of all of those leftover eggs, but egg salad sandwiches quickly become boring. So I decided to give it a bit of a different twist. To spice up those boring egg salad sandwiches, try my new recipe:
1 leftover Easter egg 1 tablespoon of your favorite salad dressing pinch of salt a twist or two of freshly ground pepper
Peel and mash egg in a small bowl. Combine with remaining ingredients. Serve on bread, toast, crackers, whatever...
I used ranch dressing in my eggspiriment, but any mayonaise based dressing will work. Get creative! With a little bit of modification, this recipe can also be used to make some rather interesting deviled eggs.
1. What was the highlight of your weekend? Why, getting my car back, of course!
Here she is, sitting in front of my house.
I don't know why I love that car so much...
2. What was the best meal you ate this past weekend? Another obvious answer, Easter dinner! Ham, potato salad, colored eggs, kolbassi and beans, paska, scones, fruit cup. Mmmmm...
3. Did you spend time with anyone special? I spent the weekend with my family. I suppose that they're special...
4. Did the weekend seem to drag, or go by too quickly? All weekends seem to go by too quickly for me since my job keeps me working six days a week. Weekend? What's a weekend? All I ever get is Sunday!

Thought For Today
I am pondering perspective. Is this a mighty waterfall?
Or is it merely water trickling over some rocks?
It's all in the way you look at things. Perspective can make the tiniest things seem grand. This can be either good or bad depending on the circumstance.
I need to get a handle on my perspective. The joys in life are what need to be magnified, the sorrows diminished...
My, but I'm feeling philosophical today!
F. Y. I. The photo is of some water flowing over a few rocks at Mingo Creek County park. There are no mighty waterfalls there!
