I know it says that in the Bible, but sheesh, it's becoming damned hard to live by that particular comandment. My intended victim is, of course, "the estranged one." I've had him up to my ears! Try though I might, I just can't seem to get along with him for very long. It's like we're from two seperate planets with totally different sets of rules.
These are some of the rules on Lady Starlight's planet:
1. Automobiles must be driven at a reasonable speed, somewhere near the speed limit or slightly above.
2. Car stereos were meant to play rock music loudly!
3. When one is angry, doors must be slammed.
4. All persons deserve a few hours of privacy each day.
5. The slaughter of wildlife is unacceptable. Killing God's innocent wild creatures is not an assertion of one's manhood, it's cruel!
6. Winding country roads are to be avoided whenever possible.
7. Six year old cars may be parked near other cars and left unlocked on certain occasions.
8. It is perfectly acceptable to have sex with a former spouse.
These are obviously some of the rules on "The Estranged One's" planet
1. Automobiles must be driven slowly. Drive at the speed limit only when the tailgaiters behind you make you so nervous that you must speed up. Exceeding posted speed limits is a capital offense!
2. Car stereos are a means for playing homemade country music CDs. The volume must always be kept at a reasonable level. Cranking it is unacceptable, even if it is your favorite song.
3. Never, under any circumstance, slam the door of the most precious six year old car!
4. Life is all about togetherness...
5. Hunting is manly and FUN!
6. Roads with speed limits above 35 mph are to be avoided. Avoid interstate highways at all costs!
7. The precious six year old car must always be parked away from other cars and be locked at all times.
8. I must remain married to my wife if I want to have sex with her (Even though everyone knows that we have both cheated in the past).
With the rules on our respective planets being so obviosly in opposition to each other, is it any wonder that the thought of murder has crossed my mind?!
It's not worth doing jail time over him!

I Hate Bees!
I also hate wasps and any other creepy little insects that have the notion to sting me. OUCH!
I'm sitting here with my hand swollen to twice its size thanks to one of those creepy little critters. It seems that he thought that one of the mailboxes on my route was his home and I was encroaching upon his territory. Now I am swelling, and itching, and hurting like the devil!
Worse still is the Benadryl I'm taking to try to make it go away. I can hardy keep my eyes open long enough to type this post.
Yeah, I'm feeling just a tad sorry for myself. Would anyone like to join me in a little pity party?
It sould be fairly obvious how I interpreted this...
1. Loving You Sunday Morning - The Scorpions 2. Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting - Elton John 3. Saturday's Child - The Monkees 4. Saturday In The Park - Chicago 5. Tell Me On A Sunday - Michael Crawford

Help! I'm Addicted
All of those trips to Atlantic City and Wheeling Island have left me with a real passion for playing the slots. But let's face it, with a dead car waiting to be either revived or replaced, it's really not a good idea for me to be running off to a casino to throw my money into a slot machine. This makes me very sad.
Fortunately, Andrea has happened upon a solution, a site called FreeSlots.com!
Oooo... It is so much fun! I can sit and play for hours and not lose a single penny. There are scads of different machines to play. This one is one of my favorites...
They're all very realistic except that these machines actually win more than three credits at a time! If only the real machines paid off as well as these ones do, I could quit my day job.
I think I shall be off to play some more...

A Concertography
I was sitting around today thinking about all of the concerts that I've seen and wondering if I could remember them all. I can't remember the exact order in which I saw them, so the list is rather random. If I've seen an artist more than once, it will be noted. There are even some artists on the list that I'm ashamed to admit seeing!
Chicago (My very first concert) Styx The Beach Boys John Cougar (Mellencamp)/Heart Billy Joel Neil Young (2) The Monkees (3) Paul McCartney Eric Clapton Phil Collins New Kids On The Block ('cos my friend's daughters needed a driver) The Devlins Def Leppard Duran Duran Cher/Cyndi Lauper Michael Crawford (2) The Povertyneck Hillbillies (A local country band) The Moody Blues (5) Elvis Costello
Conspicuously absent from the list is my favorite band, The Scorpions. I'd love to have some words with their management, and they wouldn't be nice ones either! It's been three years since they've been on the east coast of the U. S. (You all know that I was unable to obtain tickets for that show.) It's time that they came back. I'm a desperate woman. I'm not asking for Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, or Atlantic City would be fine by me. At this point, I think I'd be willing to travel to Toronto, Canada to see the guys...
Even if they are touring with a band I've nerer liked.
Name three songs that remind you of a car trip you have taken.
1. Light My Fire by The Doors brings back memories of a trip to Erie that my family took back in 1968. The song was playing on the radio jusy before we went to dinner at the Bonanza Pit restaurant. While we were there the restaurant caught fire and we had to be evacuated. Creepy, huh?
2. Wind Of Change by The Scorpions reminds me of the trip to my brother's house in Ohio that Andrea and I made two years ago. I only had one tape in the car and the number of times the song was heard was used as a time guage for the trip.
3. It wasn't a car trip (I really don't assocciate songs with driving or riding in cars), but Heart Of Gold by Neil Young reminds me of my trip to Spain. I remember playing it on my newly purchased guitar in a park in Sevilla. I couldn't understand why the Spaniards were giving me dirty looks. They don't like Neil, it seems. It has something to do with a song called Cortez The Killer. Never mock someone's national hero, Neil!
Name three songs that are best heard in a car.
1. Passion Rules The Game by The Scorpions is best heard in a car while headed to a casino
2. Du Bist So Schmutzig by The Scorpions is best when played loudly while driving past a pack of WWII veterans on Veteran's Day! (I'm so bad!)
3. Don't Need A Reindeer by The Moody Blues is best played in the car, loudly, in the middle of July! Time to bust out that December CD!
Name three songs with cars in the title or lyrics.
1. Fun Fun Fun - The Beach Boys "She'll have fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy takes her T-bird away..."
2. Little Red Corvette - Prince
3. Little Deuce Coupe -The Beach Boys Songs about cars are second only to songs about beaches for them.
It's time to recap my weekend once again! And this week I'm doing it on time!
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
1. Girls Girls Girls - Motley Crue 2. Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - Elton John & George Michael 3. One Of These Days - Emmylou Harris 4. Every Day I Write The Book - Elvis Costello 5. Monkey To Man - Elvis Costello 6. The Delivery Man - Elvis Costello 7. Allison - Elvis Costello 8. Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down - Elvis Costello & Emmylou Harris 9. Heart Shaped Bruise - Elvis Costello & Emmylou Harris 10. Pump It Up - Elvis Costello
Songs 1 and two were playing at the Hard Rock when we had dinner. The rest are from the concert (in no particular order) which still has me squeeing!
And now for the picture...

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
Last night's trip to PNC Park, my very first one, was a great introduction to the new stadium for me. Thanks to this I was able to see the field up close and personal.
This is the sports equivalent of a backstage pass! We had them because our family was selected to throw out an honorary first pitch. Speaking of which, here is Michael in action...
Ain't he adorable?!
As we were walking back to our seats afterwards, we nearly walked right into some players as they made their way out to the field. I was so startled by this that the thought of snapping a photo of them didn't even cross my mind! I'll say one thing about the Pittsburgh Pirates. They may not be top notch ball players (in fact the team has one of the worst records in the National league), but they sure are pretty! They played a good game, but lost in the eleventh inning. Oh, well, I wasn't really expecting them to win anyway.
But wait! We didn't leave the stadium yet. Liast night was fireworks night.
1. Coming Home - The Scorpions 2. Leaving On A Jet Plane - John Denver 3. Ride On - Wild Horses 4. Take Me Home - Phil Collins 5. By The Time I Get To Pheonix - Glen Campbell
Contrary to what some people believe, I do not have muliple personalities. Lady Starlight (me) and The Music Whore (Andrea) are, in fact, two seperate people. If you still don't believe it, here is some proof...
Andrea is on the left, I am on the right. Yes, we look a lot alike. We've been known to think alike as well. It must be a result of coming from the same gene pool. We ARE sisters after all!
There are some poor, unfortunate individuals out there who DO suffer from multiple personality disorders (not to mention delusions of grandeur and just plain delusions). Some of them even frequent this blog. I pity people such as this and pray that they seek professional help. Mental illness is a sickness. It can be treated.
Ill though such people may be, there are certain things that I will not tolerate. Hatred is one of them. No matter sick you may be, if you spew foolish hatred on my webspace, I will convert it to love! Hear me well, MdyBlu/Kelly! Your IP address gives you away.
Another thing that I will not tolerate is selfishness. I know the meaning of the word share. I got some beautiful (blurry in MdyBlu/Kelly language) shots of Justin and John at the recent concerts, and I post them here to be shared freely. EVERYONE is welcome to save them and use them (or not, that's their loss).
Here is one of Justin...
Call it blurry if you like. These pictures were not taken to give glory to the photographer. They were taken so that I could share the beauty that is The Moody Blues.

For Your Amusement
What do two teenaged boys look like when they find out that they'll be throwing out the first pitch at a professional baseball game?
You've just GOT to click on the picture to see the full sized version of this. Their facial expressions are priceless!
How did this happen?
We are going to the game with a group. Our family was randomly selected from those in that group to throw out the first pitch. Which family members got to do it was our decision. It could have easily been me tossing the first pitch to "the estranged one." Not a good idea, since I'd never be able to resist the temptation to lob that ball directly at his head!
The whole family shall be dressed in Pittsburgh Pirate supporting finery for the occasion. Finding a shirt for me to wear was a real pain. I ended up buying one from the boys' department at WalMart, a size 10. It fits nicely. Damn, I'm getting small (and loving it)! Both Mike and "the estranged one" said it looks cute.
Why am I going on this outing?
The last Pirate game I attended was at Three Rivers Stadium. I want to see PNC Park. Besides, it's good for the shaky reconciliation. I need that man right now. MY FREAKING CAR IS DEAD!!!
It's time to recap my weekend musically once again! I'm a bit late with this because of the road trip.
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
1. The Story In Your Eyes - The Moody Blues 2. Steppin' In A Slide Zone - The Moody Blues 3. Your Wildest Dreams - The Moody Blues 4. Question - The Moody Blues 5. Ride My See-Saw - The Moody Blues
These are some of my favorite songs in the Moodies' set list for the concerts this past weekend.
6. Obsession - The Scorpions 7. Two Steps Behind - Def Leppard 8. Do You Love Me That Much - Peter Cetera 9. Layla - Eric Clapton 10. Higher Love - Steve Winwood
These five songs were on the Love Songs mixed CD that I made at the last minute to play on the road.
And now for the picture...
Justin Hayward during Saturday night's show. Look! He's smiling.

I'm Back!
It's past midnight and I'm very tired from traveling, but I just have to share a bit of my joy with you. We got some incredible shots at the concert! It's hard to believe that these were taken from ten rows back...
John Lodge is looking mighty fine!
So is Justin Hayward...
Clicky- clicky my friends. These pictures were taken to be shared freely. As a matter of fact, even if you are my favorite blogstalker, you are welcome to save these for yourself. Enjoy!

A Bit Of Joy Before I Leave
A few months ago, while cleaning out the closets in her house, my mom discovered the dress that I wore to my high school graduation. It was very pretty with a full skirt, plunging neckline, and cap sleeves, a size 7. I looked at it sadly at the time, thinking that I could never wear it again. Pack rat that I am, I couldn't let her give it away or *GASP* throw it away. It had far too much sentimental value. I took it home and hung it in my closet...
Last night I saw it hanging there and did something crazy. I tried it on. Guess what! IT FIT!!!!
Lady Starlight will now do the dance of joy!

All My Bags Are Packed
"I'm ready to go. I'm standing here outside the door..."
Please excuse the John Denver moment! My bags are packed, though. Tomorrow evening Andrea and I leave for Atlantic City. I'm getting just a little bit excited. I want to see the ocean! I want to play the slots! I want to do the eating tour of the Boardwalk and Marina District! I want salt water taffy and t-shirts. And lest I forget, I want to see these guys...
It's time to recap my weekend once again, even though I am a bit late in doing it because of yesterday's fiasco. Apologies have been made, games have been played. Life is good again...
10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
1. Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell - KISS 2. Within Your Eyes - Gorky Park 3. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard 4. The Ballad Of Jayne - L. A. Guns 5. Du Bist So Schmutzig - The Scorpions 6. Up All Night - Slaughter 7. Twice As Hard - The Black Crowes 8. Photograph - Def Leppard 9. Edge Of Time - The Scorpions 10. Heartbreak Station - Cinderella
I chose these songs because they are the ten bonus tracks that I added to the end of the Hair Metal A - Z (Minus Q) mixed CD that I burned this weekend.
And now for the picture...
My "creepy little car" that was the source of all my aggravation this weekend!

Why?
I keep aking myself that question. Why? Why do I continue making the same stupid mistake and expect to get different results?
You may wonder what I am talking about. I haven't really discussed my very tenuous reconciliation with "the estranged one." Perhaps I didn't discuss it because I knew that it was a stupid thing to do. I didn't want you to know how stupid I am. But I did it anyway. I knew my reason. It was quite simple. I wanted one thing, SEX! That is the one (and only) thing that was ever good between us. And so I got what I wanted. I then promptly explained to him that all our relationship could be was that. We don't get along well anywhere other than in bed, I told him. If we tried to make it any other way we'd just end up wanting to kill each other, I explained to him.
Most men would be happy with that, but not him. He cried. He told me we could work around our differences this time. He wanted my love and affection. Horny little fool that I am, I agreed to give it another try.
I must admit that it felt good to curl up in his arms at night. I liked waking up to find him next to me. I even went so far as to put my wedding ring back on. I was beginning to think that maybe this time would be different. I should have known better.
It all came crashing down today when my car broke down. We needed to find out why it was still overheating. The explaination he was offering was preposterous. I know a good bit about cars and I told him so. He refused to listen to what I was saying.
I took my car and said I wanted to see what exactly it was doing and asked him if he would be around to rescue me if it got too bad. He said that he would be.
I made it to Curves and back to my mom's house without it getting completely overheated, but I knew that the next time I started it I wouldn't be so lucky. It was running hotter every minute. So my dad and I decided to have a look at it. Once again we discovered that no coolant was getting to the engine, it was all going into the overflow, a sure sign of a bad hose somewhere. Sure enough, upon adding a bit of water to the radiator the hose gave way and all of the coolant poured out. I was relieved. At least I knew what was wrong with the car. I called to tell him so and that I needed a ride home since the car could not be driven in that condition. He did not answer. I waited a little longer and called back. He still did not answer. Finally I had my dad drive me home. Imagine my surprise to discover him there! I asked him why he did not answer his phone. I had called twice, I told him. He checked his phone. The battery was dead. How could he let his battery go dead when he knew I was out there in a car that was ready to break down? How could he come to help me if he wasn't able to answer my calls? I asked him. This started one of our many knock down, drag out, it's like beating your head against a wall arguments. It ended with him walking out of the door and me screaming that this time I really was going to file for divorce.
The funny thing is that he left me his car...
I will NEVER, if I live to be 100, figure that man out!
I need some prettiness to bring me a bit of joy...
1. What is your favorite fast food restaurant? There are so many different kinds of fast food places these days that it is difficult to choose a single favorite. If we stick to just the burger and fries type of place, my answer would have to be Wendy's. I've never eaten anything there that wasn't good.
2. How many times per week do you eat fast food? Not as often as I used to, that's why there is so much less of me to love these days. Once a week more or less is my limit these days.
3. Describe your favorite fast food meal. Don't laugh! These days my favorite fast food meal is the Kid's Meal. It's safe for my diet because of the smaller portions and I still get to enjoy my cheeseburger and fries. The toys are an added plus. Right nor McDonalds is featuring NeoPets plushies in theirs! I just adore those!
4. Do you always Super-Size your meal? Nope, never! I will sometimes order a Big Kid's Meal if I'm exceptionally hungry, but that's as big as I'll order.
5. What is your least favorite fast food restaurant? I have a sort of love/hate relationship with McDonalds. I enjoy the food, but the service is terrible. I never use the Drive-Thru anymore because the morons who work there never seem to get my order correct. Once I ordered a plain cheeseburger, and guess what they gave me! A hamburger! Excuse me, but I DID say CHEESEBURGER. Even a plain one is supposed to have cheese on it! ARRGH!

Hair Metal A - Z
The preparations for this week's trip to Atlantic City have begun. It's a damned long drive, so plenty of mixed CDs must be made. Tonight I finally completed the track listing for the Hair Metal A - Z mix. I gave up hope on the letter "Q". I just couldn't find anything. Perhaps I should call it Hair Metal A - Z Minus Q !
Here is The track listing...
AArmageddon It - Def Leppard BBang - Gorky Park C Can't Get Enough - Winger DDo Ya - Ace Frehley EEvery Minute Every Day - The Scorpions FFly To The Angels - Slaughter GGonna Walk - Faster Pussycat HHide Your Heart - Kiss IIn Trance - The Scorpions JJealous Again - The Black Crowes KKicks After Six - The Scorpions LLive It And Give It - Wild Horses MMiles Away -Winger NNever Enough - L. I think I have a good sampling of bands on there. I tried REAL hard not to add too many Scorpions songs.
Earlier this week, I burned my Covers CD. These are the songs that made the final cut...
Neil Young - Imagine Cheap Trick - Don't Be Cruel Eric Clapton - Knock On Wood Peter Cetera - SOS The Moody Blues - A Winter's Tale Tesla - Signs Guns 'N Roses - Live and Let Die Gorky Park - My Generation Ace Frehley - Hide Your Heart The Scorpions - I Can't Explain Cheap Trick - Magical Mystery Tour Eric Clapton - Hound Dog Guns 'N Roses - Knockin' On Heaven's Door Tesla - We Can Work It Out The Strereophonics - Handbags And Gladrags The Moody Blues - Happy Christmas (War Is Over) Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love George Harrison - Run So Far Michael Crawford - Memory The Scorpions - Dust In The Wind
Top 5 guitarists and your favorite song by each guitarist or his/her band.
Hmmmm... I wonder who is going to be in the #1 spot...
5. Rudolf Schenker
Rudolf is responsible for writing most of the music for the band's songs so for him I'll choose No One Like You as a favorite song. The band is, of course, The Scorpions.
4. Steve Clark
I have always loved this late guitarist of Def Leppard fame. A favorite song by this band is Armageddon It
"C'mon, Steve..."
3. George Harrison
No need to mention that his band was The Beatles, but for a favorite song I'll choose one of his solo works, This Song, a humorous little ditty about his legal troubles.
2. Neil Young
Neil has played with Buffalo Springfield and C S N & Y, but my favorite of his songs is one of his solo works, Like A Hurricane, the ultimate proof of his guitar godhood!
1. Matthias Jabs
C'mon, you knew he'd be #1 on my list, didn't you?!
I'll select Tease Me Please Me as a favorite song for him, since he wrote the music for that one. Song #2 for The Scorpions!

More Random Rants
Sorry, but sometimes I just need to rant...
My major rant for today is directed at the idiots from Pen DOT, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for those of you not from around here. If you are from around here, beware! They gave "the estranged one" his license back. Stay off the roads and sidewalks. You'll be safer that way.
Damn, this means I have to give him back his car.
I'm really going to miss it.
But what really scares me are his tales of the mistakes he made on the test. These are things that would have caused a sixteen year old new driver to fail, but they passed him! Someone up there must really like him.
All I have to say is that when he zones out while driving and kills somebody, I don't know him...
My next rant is directed at the fine folks at Blogger. It was very nice of them to offer us free image hosting for our blogs. It's just a crying shame that most of the time it isn't working. And, good God, when it is they attach all sorts of crap to the html codes. A simple IMG tag would be sufficient!
Let's see if it is working now. If it is, you'll be seeing fireworks...
Wow! It worked, but only after the second try...
I guess that's enough ranting for now. I'm tired. But I'm sure there was at least one more thing I needed to rant about. I can't remember what it was. Oh, well, maybe tomorrow...

It's Been One Of Those Days
OK, so today should have been my day off, but there will be no more of that for me! What the post office giveth, the post office taketh away! It's a long story, but what it adds up to is that the idiots in the postal service would rather pay me scads more money than leave well enough alone. What a bunch of morons!
Let the witchdoctors of stupidity dance!
Having to work today, and every Wednesday until God only knows when was bad, but when I got home things got worse. I fought with my laptop for at least an hour to get the mouse to work. Then when I finally get it to work and decided to go online, I discovered that my phone line is deader than this...
ARRGH! No dial-up for me. I head back to my mom's house with my evil laptop. There is DSL there. YAY! I get to sleep on the floor!
What is this? Windows has decided that it needs to update! Damn and blast, another fifteen minute restart!
Perhaps some new screen caps from the No One Like You video will make me feel better...
Nope, that didn't work. I guess I'll have to rely on a couple of old favorites...
