Christmas Wish List Update!
I just can't believe it. Someone got hold of my TRUE Christmas wish list and used it to make one of those "Hehehe! Very Funny." animated web pages. Click here to see it. Just add the words "with Matthias Jabs" after each item on the list, and you'll know what I REALLY want for Christmas.

I suppose that it just wouldn't be right for me to let Thanksgiving go by without posting some sort of list of things for which I am thankful. It's not really in character for a cynical, sarcastic bitch like myself to do such a sappy sounding thing, so be assured that even the most sincere items on this list will be followed by some sort of smart ass comment.

I am thankful for:

The great people who work with me. Bob Anderson, this does not include you!
Two wonderful sons who are much better at staying out of trouble than their mother ever was!
My friends all over the world. Erick, Josh, Samantha, & Firaas, this means you!
Having a sister who is also one of my best friends. I've gotta say this. She reads this blog...
Websites that sell Fender guitars really cheap!
Another day off with pay!
Not having to buy this meal at Boston Market and eat it in a hospital room as I did a few years back.
Having the chance to meet John Lodge.
But, most of all I'm thankful for...

Guys who look like this...
Love ya, Mati!

and

This!
Klaus, Love ya, too!

Oooo...New picture on my header. Ain't it pretty? I've just gotta change things here on occasion, but I refuse to give up my purple and black color scheme. I'm quite fond of it.
My most interesting birthday present ended today. The estranged one had no money to buy me a gift, so he let me have his nice, fairly new car for four days. I miss it already. It has a CD player. My car does not. Since almost all of my Scorpions collection is on CD, not cassette, I was in hog heaven while driving that thing. I really need to copy some of those CDs to tape. I am now back to listening to the one album that I do have on cassette over and over and over... I should've made him pry those keys from my cold dead hand!
On a brighter note, that new CD had something even better than its musical content...Pictures! Just look at this one!

Beautiful, isn't it?

I'm Such a Good Girl!

Well..kinda... I DID manage to go into the Guitar Center and leave without buying another guitar, or anything for that matter. They didn't have my much wanted Scorpions songbook. *sniff* How awful of them! It wasn't available at Media Play either, I checked. I suppose that I'm just going to have to go to the official site and buy it there. I know that they have it. Unless some kind person would like to go there and get it for me as a Christmas gift...
Could little old me go into Media Play without buying something for herself? Hell, no! How could I possibly pass this up?!

It's an import. I've never seen it anywhere else. So what that it was $22 for a single disc! It is the first acoustic album that I've heard where the band didn't kill a bunch of their own songs. They did mostly the ballads, but even the acoustic version of "Rock You Like a Hurricane" sounded good. Well done, guys. I want more...

Warning!

I have just had an experience with the most EVIL spyware program ever. Not only does this new program hijack your browser and switch your homepage, it causes your CD-ROM doors to open and close, and opens a document of theirs in your notepad! Just what is it that these incredibly invasive spies want you to do?! They want you to download their spyware removal program!!! Do these idiots think that I was born yesterday? No way would I be stupid enought to download a spyware removal program from the spies themselves. I imagine that they would nicely omit all of their own prorams from the list of things to be removed, and heaven only knows what added extras come with it!
If you happen to pick up this nasty program, immediately disconnect and run Spybot Search and Destroy. You must have the latest version installed for it to be removed. If you don't have it, there is a link on my sidebar to the download site. If you do, be sure that you have installed all of the updates. You need the latest updates for this evil program to be removed. As is par for the course, you will have to reset your homepage even after the program is removed.
I know that some American companies are a bit ticked off because a guy from Germany is distributing a fully functional spyware removal progam for free, but this is ridiculous. Don't give these jerks the satisfaction of downloading their stripped down program. So far as I am concerned, Patrick Kolla (Creator of Spybot S & D) is God! His progam has saved my computer from more nasty spyware programs than I can count, while other free programs just passed them over. You need their paid versions to remove all of the REALLY evil stuff. No, I have NOT been paid to say this. These are my own personal feelings. American capitalists be damned! Download and use this guy's program.

Buy Me a Present Day has come and gone. This is what people who refuse to age have instead of birthdays. I suppose that there really could be nothing more exciting than what I got on Sunday, so it was a bit of a let down. Oooo...John hug. It doesn't get much better than that! Unless of course it were a Matthias hug...THAT would probably leave me somewhere beyond squeeeee!
I suppose that what really has me upset is that I haven't heard from one of my best internet friends in ages. I most certainly miss him. I am hoping that he stumbles in here and sees this. Maybe a good dose of guilt will cause him to get back in touch with me.
Dangerous situation ahead.
I'm going to Monroeville on Sunday. Computer show...Guitar Center...Mall...Dammit, there goes my paycheck! I will not buy yet another guitar, or so I try to convince myself. I still haven't got that Scorpions songbook, though. I suppose THAT wouldn't break me. But, I just heard on the radio that they are having a sale. Oh, well, who needs to eat, anyway?

"Some of these fans take our music way too seriously!"

And just why would John be thinking this? Could it be because he sees two women wearing reindeer antlers? Don't need a reindeer... Some of us think that you do!

|
Monday, November 17, 2003

Me, John, & Andrea.

Here it is! The evidence. Squeeeee! Yes, that is truly John Lodge's arm around us. Squeeeee! Sorry, but there's still a lot of squeeeee left in me still.

|

Squeeeee!!!!
What exactly does "Squeeeee!" mean? It is the sound made when excitement so takes you over that you are rended completely speechless and squeeeee is the only sound you find yourself capable of producing.
What can cause this sort of excitement? In short, being hugged by John Lodge. We waited for hours on the cold streets of Youngstown, Ohio for that hug, but it was well worth the wait! Pictures are forthcoming, and will be posted as soon as they are developed and uploaded!
In connection with this event, I would like to thank the following people:
The nice Youngstown policeman who kept us company during our wait and took our picture with John.
The man from the band's caterers who gave us the soda pop.
Squeeeee! The only thing I can think of that could produce more "Squeeeee!" would be if it were Matthias Jabs or Klaus Meine on the other end of the hug...

I just can't help it. I'm excited. I'm going to see the Moody Blues, I'm actually getting out of this ghost town...I just can't imagine why I'm so excited. There will be T-shirts, there will be "Don't Need a Reindeer," there will be I. H. O. P. (We don't have 'em in this part of PA). Still, I don't understand why I'm so excited. I've got a new dress...yes...me in a dress! A new do sans all of the yucky gray, I've even got a fancy manicure. (THAT won't last long. You can't play guitar with long nails). Geez...what would happen if I ever got to see The Scorpions?! Would I keel over from the sheer excitement? If this is any indication, probably.

The first snowflakes of this winter season fell upon me yesterday. All I have to say about this is:

Don't need a reindeer.
Don't need the snow...

Wait, those are Justin's words. Oh, NO! That song is now on the mental loop again!

This brings to mind the fact that the Moody Blues concert is this Sunday. I can hardly wait. My little reindeer antlers are quivering in anticipation! Yes, I bought some cute little heabands with antlers and bells for my sister and myself to wear when they do that song. Heheheh! If you are going to be there, look for us. It will be a bit like that old Monty Python bit..."Spot the Loonie!" or in this case loonies.

*Special Note to Readers of My Sister's Blog*
Do not even THINK of saying anything unkind about the Scorpions to me. She was not lying about the blood. There will be carnage.

It's a travesty, I tell you!
I was shopping in the one of the local malls when I happened to discover it. It horrified me. It sickened me. It made me want to run to the nearest employee and start screaming. The store was F Y E, a record store which just happened to have a few beginner's guitars for sale. There was nothing exciting about them, they were just cheap things. It is the steps that the store's management took to prevent the theft of the display models (Lordie, I sure hope that they were just display models!) that REALLY got me fuming. Did they display them in a high place, out of reach of sticky fingers? NO! Did they display them in a locked case? NO again! What the IDIOTS did to prevent their theft was to remove all of the strings!!! Do they not realize that by doing this they have destroyed a perfectly good instrument?! Were these guitars ever to be restrung, the sudden tension would snap the brige right off! This is a lesson that I learned very painfully back in my days as a beginner. If the folks running the store know nothing about guitars, which is obviously the fact, then they should not be selling them!
OK...rant finished....

OK, I realize that what my heart truly desires for Christmas just isn't going to be under the tree, but I can still dream. Can't I?
In lieu of Matthias Jabs, I will accept any of the following Scorpions albums. I will accept them in any format, CD, vinyl or cassette, but they must be in new or like new condition with all images and artwork included.

Another suitable Christmas gift for me would be the safe return of my two beloved missing guitars. I do SO miss that handmade classical, and it simply CANNOT be replaced. :(

What I Want for Christmas
Yes, it is getting to be that time of year again. ARRGH!!! It is always so terrible to try to find the right gift for friends and family, so to help mine out, I have put my wish list here. I don't mind if several of you go together on this one!

Matthias Jabs!

Matthias, is that a sock in your pocket, or are you just happy to see us?!

YIPPEE! There is now music on my blog. "Send Me an Angel," how appropriate. I'd been wanting to put it here for quite a while, but was just too lazy to upload the file to the host I could use to remote load it. It would be really nice to put the REAL song on here, but good old legalities prevent doing so. What a shame! Why free publicity should be illegal is beyond me. Damn the RIAA!
The ads for the guitar sites are back. It's a good thing, too, because I was running out of guitar related random words to post. I've gotta keep those ads up there. You never know when I might want to buy yet another guitar. It's an obsession. Hmmm...some sheet music would be nice. I wonder if I can get some ads for THAT up there...
Yes, I have control! Life is good.

Here it is! The long awaited picture of the cute little "hiney" of Matthias Jabs. Such a cute one, it is. 'Tis a shame that I haven't been able to find any more pictures taken from that angle. Oooo...he's wearing those yellow bumble bee pants, too! If you really want a good chuckle, right click on the picture and select properties, to see the file name I have given it. I try to keep my file names descriptive, that's all I'll tell you! While you're clicking, feel free to save this one for yourself. It's such a nice little "tushie." Every true worshipper of Matthias Jabs SHOULD have this one stored safely away somewhere!

Random Words for Today:

Yeah, I'm trying to get those guitar ads back up there again!

Wednesday, November 05, 2003

Yes, there is finally a new page at Love at First Sting! I call it "Tiny Treasures." Check it out. You'll understand why. I was also able to figure out the formula to make the text in the shrine match the text here. It sure did take long enough. Damn Pagebuilder for not using HTML color codes!
It seems that my lovely little ad box is going wierd on me again. Geez...I call myself a witch and I end up with ads for "Bedknobs & Broomsticks." I guess I shall have to start inserting those random words again!

Random Words for Today:

Really, isn't this such a lovely picture of Matthias' nose?! C'mon, why the heck would anyone take a picture with the best looking guy in the world hidden behind a bunch of guitars? Not that they're not nice guitars, but I'd like to see exactly what he looked like in those yellow bumble bee spandex pants. ;)
The photo's one redeeming quality, Klaus' spandex pants. This is the only photo that I've found so far where you get a good view of HIS "equipment!" Yep, he was feeling a bit down and to the left that day. Heheheh! I'm such a pervert!

The Evil Sisters on Halloween!

Yes, here it is...what you've all been waiting for...a picture of little ol' ME!
Here we are, the Music Whore and the Rabid Scorpions Fan, displaying our true nature, a demon & a witch. Now, wasn't it worth visiting just to see this?! Heheheh!
